David McCormick

Chief Executive Officer

David joined Bridgewater in 2009 and was President and then Co-CEO before becoming CEO in 2020. Prior to joining Bridgewater, he was the US Treasury Under Secretary for International Affairs in the George W. Bush Administration during the global financial crisis, and also had senior roles on the National Security Council and in the Department of Commerce.

From 1999-2005 David served as CEO and then President of two publicly-traded software companies, and was previously a consultant at McKinsey & Company. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy, a former Army officer and veteran of the First Gulf War, and has a Ph.D. from Princeton’s School of Public and International Affairs.

David is a Trustee on several boards including the United Service Organizations (USO) and The Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) and is the Chairman of the Atlantic Council’s International Advisory Board.
