Robyn Shepherd Named to “50 Leading Women in Hedge Funds”

Reporting to the CEO as Head of Corporate Engagement, Robyn Shepherd oversees Bridgewater’s public affairs, communications, and branding functions, as well as the company’s initiatives for sustainability, diversity and inclusion, and community. Since joining the firm in 2004, she has held key investment, client-facing, and management roles and has helped the firm transition from a founder-led boutique to an institution led by the next generation. After serving as Head of Client Analytics, she worked alongside CEO David McCormick as his Chief of Staff, partnering with him on the firm’s strategic initiatives, company culture agenda, business oversight, and governance. In that role, she built Bridgewater’s communications function, created its Alumni Network, co-founded its Women’s Influence Network, and was a founding member of the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Council. Today, she oversees the teams responsible for running and evolving those initiatives in line with the firm’s strategic priorities.

Robyn’s leadership and impact are known broadly throughout the firm — a common thread has been her mentorship and trailblazing for others. CEO David McCormick, who has worked closely with Robyn for over a decade, offered this praise: “Countless people at Bridgewater hold their current jobs because Robyn showed what was possible or told them the way. It is not an accident that virtually every firm-wide event across the affinity networks, department programs, and alumni engagement has speakers who cite Robyn’s importance in their career, and the other executives across the firm seek her counsel and her wisdom.”

In association with EY, The Hedge Fund Journal published its eighth edition of “50 Leading Women in Hedge Funds,” recognizing difference makers across the hedge fund industry. Robyn joins other Bridgewater colleagues who have shared this honor in past years including Eileen Murray, Karen Karniol-Tambour, Helene Glotzer, and Erin Miles.
