This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) is effective as of January 1, 2023.

Bridgewater Associates, LP (“Bridgewater,” “we” or “us”) respects your (“you,” “your” or “User”) concerns about privacy. Information We Obtain

Bridgewater may obtain personal information about you in various ways, such as through our Website. The types of information we obtain include:

California Consumer Privacy Statement

This California Consumer Privacy Statement supplements the Bridgewater Privacy Policy and applies solely to California consumers. This Statement does not apply to personnel of either Bridgewater or our clients.

This California Consumer Privacy Statement uses certain terms that have the meaning given to them in the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 and its implementing regulations (the “CCPA”) and the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 and its implementing regulations (the “CPRA”) (collectively, the “CCPA/CPRA”).

We may use (and may have used during the 12-month period prior to the effective date of this Statement) the categories of personal information listed above for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy. Bridgewater does not collect or process sensitive personal information with the purpose of inferring characteristics about California consumers covered by this Statement.

To the extent we process deidentified information, we will maintain and use the information in deidentified form and will not attempt to reidentify the information unless permitted by applicable law.

We will retain your personal information for the time period reasonably necessary to achieve the purposes described in our Privacy Policy and this Statement, or any other notice provided at the time of collection, taking into account applicable statutes of limitation and records retention requirements under applicable law.

6. California Consumer Privacy Rights

You may have certain choices regarding our use and disclosure of your personal information, as described below.

  • Access: You may have the right to request, twice in a 12-month period, that we disclose to you the personal information we have collected, used, disclosed and sold about you during the past 12 months.
  • Correction: You have the right to request that we correct the personal information we maintain about you, if that information is inaccurate.
  • Deletion: You may have the right to request that we delete certain personal information we have collected from you.
  • Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing: California law provides consumers with the right to opt-out of the sale of personal information or the sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes. We do not sell or share consumers’ personal information.

Verifying Requests: To help protect your privacy and maintain security, we will take steps to verify your identity before granting you access to your personal information or complying with your request. If you do not have an email address or other direct contact information on file with us, then there is no reasonable method by which we can verify your identity to the level of certainty required by the CCPA/CPRA. The reason for this is that Bridgewater historically has not linked IP addresses, device identifiers or other information collected through automated means to named actual persons. Accordingly, if you do not have an email address or other direct contact information on file with us, and you request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information, we will not be able to process your request at this time.

If you have an email address or other direct contact information on file with us, and request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information, we may require you to provide your name, email address, and company name, if previously provided to us. In addition, if you ask us to provide you with specific pieces of personal information, we will require you to sign a declaration under penalty of perjury that you are the consumer whose personal information is the subject of the request.

Additional Information: If you choose to exercise rights you may have under the CCPA/CPRA, you have the right to not receive discriminatory treatment by us. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we may charge a reasonable fee to comply with your request.
