Steve Secundo Recognized as an Institutional Investor 2025 Hedge Fund Rising Star

Steve is one of Bridgewater’s Senior Portfolio Strategists in the Alpha Engine. In this role, he is among a dedicated group of senior investors who work closely with Bridgewater’s CIOs and partner directly with clients on some of their most complex and impactful investment priorities. This requires the unique combination of both breadth and depth of understanding across all areas, making Steve an excellent representative of what it means to be a rising star at Bridgewater and within the hedge fund industry.

Steve joined Bridgewater in 2008 and was previously a senior investor within Bridgewater’s Global Currencies Research group, shaping strategy and investment insights across both developed and emerging markets. He has expertise in Bridgewater’s investment process, portfolio structuring, global macroeconomics and asset class specific research, including global currencies, interest rates, commodities, and equities. Throughout his time at Bridgewater, Steve has worked closely with our co-CIOs to drive research projects impacting Bridgewater’s investment strategies, partnering with some of the most sophisticated global pools of capital, including sovereign wealth funds, central banks, pension funds, endowments, and large corporations. He is also a contributor and editor for the Bridgewater Daily Observations, sharing research and insights with institutional investors and policy makers across the globe.

Steve received a B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from Wesleyan University (2007) and an M.S. in Quantitative Finance from Fordham University (2008).
