Sam Haber
Sam joined Bridgewater in 2013 and is Head of Portfolio and Trading, Director of Investment Systems, and a Partner at the firm. He is responsible for end-to-end oversight of all Bridgewater investment systems, from how investment insights are converted into systematic logic, to how these insights ultimately flow through to the positions the firm holds. Sam’s experience at Bridgewater spans the breadth of research, portfolio construction, and trading groups. Most recently, he led the firm’s Portfolio Research Team, where he oversaw and improved portfolio construction and the risk management process. Prior to that, he ran the Commodities team and worked on the Trading Analytics team.
Sam started his career clerking for traders in the crude oil trading pit at the New York Mercantile Exchange while in high school and college. After college, Sam joined Barclays Capital, where he spent two years as an analyst on the bank’s US Rates trading desk. Sam graduated magna cum laude from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Economics and earned an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business.
