Rick Sharma and Irma Valverde Named to INvolve’s 2025 Empower Executive and Rising Stars Role Model List

Chief Legal Advisor Rick Sharma and Senior Director, Culture and Internal Communications Irma Valverde were named to INvolve’s Empower Executive and Rising Stars Role Model lists, with Rick being named to the Executives list for the second year in a row. These awards celebrate global leaders who are advocates for the advancement of diversity and inclusion both inside and outside of the workplace. 
 
Rick Sharma joined Bridgewater in 2012, and in his current role is responsible for our investment management legal practice. He partners with internal stakeholders on key legal, regulatory, governance, and risk management initiatives. Additionally, he is a Partner and a member of the firm’s Commercial and Business Strategy Committee. 
 
Since joining the firm in 2018, Irma Valverde has taken on a variety of roles related to enhancing Bridgewater’s culture and talent, touching almost every piece of the employee experience, including recruiting, onboarding, rewards, performance reviews, and more. In her current role as Senior Director, Culture and Internal Communications, Irma works across teams to help shape the employee experience through companywide dialogue, communications, and culture initiatives.  
  
Both Irma and Rick are both deeply involved in Bridgewater’s employee networks. Rick serves as the Executive Sponsor of Bridgewater’s Asian American Network (AAN) where he works closely with the affinity network’s leaders to create a representative strategy and programming to build community, provide professional development, and raise awareness about Asian heritage. For several years, Irma served as the Co-Head of Bridgewater’s Hispanic Latinx Network (HLN), which is dedicated to connecting, enriching, and advancing the experience of Bridgewater’s Hispanic and Latin American community. She maintains a key role on the network’s leadership team. Both Irma and Rick are also active members and supporters of the Women’s Influence Network (WIN), Bridgewater Black Network (BBN) and Bridgewater’s LGBTQ+ Ally Network (BPROUD).
