Deputy Head of Total Portfolio Strategies

Devon Long joined Bridgewater in 2012 and is Deputy Head of Total Portfolio Strategies as well as a Partner at the firm. He is focused on delivering innovative investment strategies that address clients’ biggest challenges, including overseeing portfolios, leading research, and building investment systems. Prior to his current role, Devon served as the Co-Head of Investment Implementation, overseeing the firm’s trade execution, portfolio management, data, and investment operations. He is also a lead investor partnering with technology and engineering functions to design Bridgewater’s investing platforms to systematically manage money at scale. Devon has co-authored multiple research articles alongside Co-CIOs Karen Karniol-Tambour and Greg Jensen in the firm’s signature daily research publication Bridgewater Daily Observations.

Devon is an Atlantic Council Millennium Fellow and was named to Institutional Investor's "Hedge Fund Rising Stars" in 2024. He is a graduate of Harvard University where he studied computer science.
