Blake Cecil

Blake joined Bridgewater in 2017 and as Deputy Chief Investment Officer, he partners closely with our co-CIOs to oversee and evolve Bridgewater’s investment strategies, and leads the Alpha Engine’s Cross-Asset Research team. This includes partnering with each Asset Class Lead in setting the research agenda and developing new systemized trading strategies. Blake is also the investor responsible for overseeing the Alpha Engine’s talent and technology strategies, and is a member of Bridgewater’s Investment Committee and a Partner at the firm.

Prior to his role as Deputy CIO, Blake was Co-Head of Currency Research, where he oversaw the firm’s currency strategy across both developed and emerging markets. Blake has been a key contributor within Bridgewater’s investment community, rising quickly as he delivered impact-leading research in currency markets and developed novel investment strategies. Blake is also passionate about and has been a leader in developing a vibrant community of investors more broadly. Blake has been a regular teacher in the firm’s nine-month intensive development program to train and assess new investors.
